TRI’s 2026 Summer Writing Challenge attracted several bright stars, with five UAMS researchers shining the brightest.
This year’s winners were:
- Sara Landes, Ph.D., in the College of Medicine Department of Psychiatry, earned the Sage Scribe honor, recognizing the most submissions by a professor.
- Yong-Moon “Mark” Park, M.D., Ph.D., MS, in the Fay W. Boozman College of Public Health Department of Epidemiology, received the Wise Wordsmith accolade for the most submissions by an associate professor.
- Two faculty members received the Astounding Apprentice award for the most submissions by an assistant professor: Jennifer Andersen, Ph.D., in the Institute for Community Health Innovation, and Mollee Smith, Ph.D., in the College of Medicine Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, and the Health and Legal System (HEALS) Lab.
- Adrian Williams, MS, director of research administration in the College of Pharmacy Department of Pharmacy Practice, claimed the Stupendous Scholar distinction for the most submissions in the “other” category.
The friendly competition highlighted publication submissions from UAMS, Arkansas Children’s Hospital or Research Institute, or Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System faculty or staff members who received a TRI award, utilized a service or resource, or had been partially or fully supported since Jan. 1, 2020.
