The objectives of this course are to: identify core components of a qualitative study design, including the importance of a primary research question and approach to the study; determine the appropriate methods (one-on-one interviews, focus groups, and participant observations) to use in a health services research study; and discuss the strengths and challenges in applying qualitative research methods to health-related research questions through case-based examples.
