Overview
The UAMS Translational Research Institute’s Clinical Trials Innovation Unit provides support for all types of human-based research studies including investigator-initiated and industry-sponsored studies. The purpose of the Clinical Trials Innovation Unit is to support high quality multi-site research studies and streamline the trial start-up processes.
The Clinical Trials Innovation Unit serves as a liaison between Translational Research Institute hub researchers, researchers from other institutions, and industry sponsors to guide researchers throughout the clinical trial process to accelerate approvals, contract execution, and study implementation.
The Clinical Trials Innovation Unit also works collaboratively with other groups on campus, such as attorneys for research contracts and institutional compliance offices. The Clinical Trials Innovation Unit coordinates protocol submissions to central and local institutional review boards (IRBs), providing a single contact point of contact to enhance communication and reduce redundancy.
