A new study sponsored by the UAMS Translational Research Institute is recruiting pregnant women volunteers to learn how marijuana and CBD oil may affect infants in their first year.
The study is looking for pregnant women who use marijuana or CBD oil regularly as well as women who do not use those products.
Volunteers may be eligible if they are at least 18 years old, deliver their baby at UAMS, and are able to participate in the study until their baby is 1 year old.
The study requires participants to begin the study during their third trimester, provide a small blood sample and visit UAMS for brief exams of their baby.
Compensation will be provided.
Those interested in participating should contact the study’s principal investigator, Stefanie Kennon-McGill, Ph.D., 501-686-8258, or email skennonmcgill@uams.edu.
