Engaging Patients through Technology – Advancing the Intersection of Consumer Health Informatics and Implementation Science presented by Timothy Hogan, PhD. Patient-facing technologies, including mhealth applications, portals, and other such tools, have great potential to engage patients in their own care; however, this potential has not been widely realized. Promoting adoption of these technologies can be difficult, and their effective integration into routine care can be elusive. Effective implementation strategies are needed, along with further evidence of their impact.
