The Translational Research Institute (TRI) is part of the national Trial Innovation Network. This is a new collaborative effort within the Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA) Program aimed at executing trials better, faster, and more cost-efficiently with an emphasis on being a national laboratory to study, understand and innovate the process of conducting clinical trials.
The vision for the Trial Innovation Network is to “innovatively address critical roadblocks in clinical trials and accelerate the translation of novel interventions into life-saving therapies.”

Program Leadership
Dr Arthur is a physician-scientist, Professor of Medicine and Director of the Division of Nephrology. He has extensive experience in mentoring and mentored career development awards. His research interests are in the areas of acute kidney injury, glomerular diseases and the gut microbiome. His research includes physiology, clinical trials and database analysis.
