Using ultrahigh-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (UHPLC-MS/MS), the Biodosimetry Diagnostic Core offers high-throughput analytical services for determining diagnostic amino acids and their precursors or metabolic products. Available biomarkers include citruilline and tetrahydrobiopterin. Determination of other small molecules is possible, but fees will be assessed for the cost of method validation.
Endogenous amino acid metabolism is a powerful biomarker for many disease states. Research has shown that exposure to stress, including ionizing radiation, activates signal transduction pathways, resulting in a complex change in amino acid metabolism.
Fees and Terms of Service
The Biodosimetry Diagnostic Core serves the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) campus, outside universities, private industry and government laboratories.
Setup fee: $250 per sample set
Internal (UAMS) fee: $22 per sample
External (non-UAMS): $32 per sample
